Upgrading Meeting and Student Organizations with the theme “Leadership Builds Collaboration Through Organizations”

On Saturday, March 2, 2024, the Upgrading Meeting and Student Organizations Program with the theme “Leadership Builds Collaboration Through Organizations” was conducted by the Department of Organization Development and Human Resources. This activity was carried out offline at Building F & G, 6th Floor, Room 618 and commenced with the opening by the MCs, Marshella Anggraeni and Amelia Limbong. The event was attended by the Assistant to the Vice Dean III, two speakers, and Industrial Engineering students.

The event proceeded with opening remarks from the Chairperson and Assistant to the Vice Dean III, followed by a 35-minute presentation titled “Leadership Builds Collaboration in Organizations” by the speaker, Bang Ardhi. This presentation elaborated on the history of Trisakti, student organizations at departmental, faculty, and university levels, as well as an explanation of soft skills gained by joining student organizations.

Next, a 10-minute Q&A session was opened, with five participants asking questions. Then, the second presentation, lasting 35 minutes, focused on Meeting Mechanisms by the speaker, Bang Ricky Saputra. This presentation explained the terminology of meetings, types of meetings, elements of meetings, meeting procedures, meeting terminology, types of interruptions, meeting devices, criteria for meeting leaders, and types of gavel taps in meetings. The next activity was a 20-minute simulation practice session. In this activity, three volunteers from the 2023 cohort served as Meeting Chairs. Chairs 1 and 2 were responsible for opening and closing the meeting, receiving interruptions, and summarizing various interruptions. Meanwhile, Chair 3 was responsible for taking minutes.

In this practice, participants actively presented their arguments for or against the theme or other interrupting speakers. At the end of this activity, each interruption was explained one by one, including which type of interruption it fell under. The event concluded with the presentation of plaques and certificates to the speakers by the Department Chair, Bang Aditya, followed by a photo session.
