Production Systems Laboratory of Industrial Engineering Study Program on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 carried out an online Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) activity which is a collaboration between Faculty of Industrial Technology, Universitas Trisakti and PT Komatsu Indonesia. This PKM is a follow-up to the research results of lecturers and students of the Industrial Engineering Study Program who also participated in Industrial Internship program for 6 months in Tegal Regency, Central Java. This Industrial Internship is part of the MOU between the Faculty of Industrial Technology and PT Komatsu Indonesia which is also part of the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) activity. This program is an implementation of the Quadruple Helix Approach involving Academics, Government, Industry and Communities. In this case, Academics are represented by lecturers, Industry is represented by PT Komatsu Indonesia, the Government is represented by the Tegal Regency Government which is developing the Tegal Small Industrial Environment (LIK), and the Community is represented by Hikinate (Tegal Heavy Equipment Industry Supplier Association). Before students are deployed to the field, for 1 month PT Komatsu provides training on MONOZUKURI knowledge and TQM thinking through OJT at Gemba. This becomes the basic knowledge of students when they are involved in a project based activity at the supplier’s location. Placement of student interns at PT Komatsu supplier locations resulted in identification of problems faced by suppliers and proposed training priorities needed. The recommended training is waste identification, SOP making training, cost calculation training, Preventive Maintenance training, CAD training and training on the application of research proposals. Based on the results of the questionnaire given, the selected training program to be implemented immediately is Preventive Maintenance training which is expected to help PT Komatsu Indonesia suppliers in the maintenance activities of the equipment used. This batch 1 internship program has gone through the Plant Do Check Action (PDCA) stage and will be repaired in the next 2nd batch. The PKM activity was attended by representatives of PT Komatsu Indonesia, namely Mr. Mahendra Tirta, Mr. Usam Sutarja, Mr. Agus Winarso and Mr. Suroso, participants representing supplier staff namely PT Japra Mandiri, PT Milako Tehnik Mandiri, PT Karya Paduyasa, PT Putra Bungsu, PT Prima Karya and PT Intan Pratamajaya. The series of materials were delivered by four lecturers, namely Prof. Parwadi Moengin, Ph.D; Dr. Ir. Docki Saraswati, M.Eng; Dr. Rahmi Maulidya, ST, MT and Debbie Kemala Sari, ST, MBA, MT. The PKM activity also involved 2 production system laboratory assistant students, namely Aishah Zahra Setiawan and Raditya Abyudaya Putra and 1 education staff, Ari Nuryahya, SE. This activity is also expected to be continued by producing new research and can contribute to providing solutions to problems faced by PT Komatsu and its suppliers.
